The field is led by No. 1 Kaique Pacheco who has been dominant this season, recording an elite tour best four event wins, in addition to 14 Top-5 and 17 Top-10 finishes. Hot on Pacheco’s heels is 2017 PBR Rookie of the Year Jose Vitor Leme. Since the final regular-season elite tour event of 2018 in Nampa, where the Brazilian young gun was third, Leme has closed the gap on Pacheco by 455 points.

The tour’s Top 5 are rounded out by No. 3 Claudio Montanha Jr., No. 4 Luciano De Castro and No.5 Cody Teel.

In the Rookie of the Year race, a mere 225.83 points separate the top four contenders heading into World Finals week. Standings leader Keyshawn Whitehorse will look to maintain his No. 1 ranking, while No.2 Colten Jesse, No. 3 Alex Marcilio and No.4 Nathan Burtenshaw prepare to battle it out on the dirt inside of the home of the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

The 35 qualifiers via the world standings that will put it all on the line in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip for a chance at collecting their share of the more than $2.5 million in prize money are:

Joining these 35 men at World Finals are five qualifiers from the Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour.

Francisco Garcia Torres (Sal, Mexico) earned his spot as the top finishing international invite from the RVT Finals where he tied for twelfth. Luis Blanco (Iacanga, Brazil) clenched a berth after finishing third at the RVT Finals, while Juan Carlos Contreras’ (Huichapan, Mexico) fifth place effort also earned him an invite.

More than $2.5 million is at stake during the 2018 PBR World Finals including a $1 million bonus awarded to the World Champion, who also receives the coveted World Champion belt buckle.

Each rider will ride one bull per night during Rounds 1-5 from Wednesday through Sunday. Scores from the five rides will then be combined, and the Top 15 riders will advance to the championship round following the completion of Round 5 on Sunday, Nov. 11. The Portugal international failed to find the back of the net away at Old Trafford a fortnight ago, with Paulo Dybala being the hero as the Argentine’s goal handed the Italian giants a 1-0 victory to open up a five-point lead at the top of Group H.

Jose Mourinho’s side sit second in the group with four points – two ahead of Valencia – though another defeat could put their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds in danger.

Both Blaise Matuidi and Douglas Costa were forced off the pitch at the weekend with hip and adductor issues, respectively, and are doubts for the clash against United.

Mario Mandzukic missed the game at Old Trafford due to an ankle injury suffered in training, but he is available to feature. Sami Khedira could be involved having also missed the game in Manchester, while Federico Bernardeschi, Emre Can and Moise Kean join Costa in being ruled out.

Potential Juventus XI:  Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Bentancur, Khedira, Pjanic; Mandzukic, Dybala, Ronaldo.

Diogo Dalot is also nearing a return to the first team, though an appearance in Turin is unlikely.

A home win over United would send Juventus into the knockout phase as group winners, leaving Mourinho’s side to scrap with Valencia for the final qualifying berth.

Lukaku is still recovering from the injury which saw him miss the weekend win at Bournemouth and that leaves him doubtful for Sunday’s Manchester derby, so Martial and Rashford could both feature in Turin.

The meeting in Turin will be a reunion for many, with Ronaldo facing his former club and manager once again, and Paul Pogba returning to his old side.

Ronaldo will be looking to rectify his miserable scoring record against Mourinho, having only managed to score once in 14 matches against the former Real Madrid coach.

Despite being in fine form in Serie A with seven goals and six assists so far this season, Ronaldo has been unable to continue his prolific Champions League form from last season – and is yet to register in the competition.

Real Madrid vs Viktoria Plzen

Real Madrid vs Viktoria Plzen : Real Madrid will look to continue their recent recovery under Santiago Solari on Wednesday when they face Viktoria Plzen in a crucial UEFA Champions League encounter.

Following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui, Solari has steered the team to two wins in succession, although they did leave it late on Saturday to overcome Real Valladolid 2-0 in La Liga. Victory here would leave them in a strong position to get out of Group G and into the knockout stages.

Plzen won’t be an easy assignment away from home, though. While they lost 2-1 when these two teams met at the Santiago Bernabeu, the Czech outfit created some clear opportunities and will fancy their chances of doing so again in front of their own supporters.

Unsurprisingly there was some nervousness around the Santiago Bernabeu as Madrid toiled at times on Saturday against an organised opponent in Valladolid. But eventually Solari’s side had enough to get the job done.

The coach would’ve been delighted to see Vinicius Jr. play a part in the win, too, as the youngster has struggled to make an impact since his high-profile transfer in the summer.

He celebrated wildly as his shot deflected off a defender and into the net to break the deadlock for Madrid. Per Spanish football journalist Jason Pettigrove, his initial effort didn’t appear to be going on target:

Still, there was a vibrancy about the young Brazilian when he came into the game that Madrid had lacked for long spells. That was because key men like Luka Modric and Gareth Bale failed to sparkle.

Neither player was anywhere near their best in the win on Saturday, and ahead of this trip to the Czech Republic there are some selection dilemmas for Solari. Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC believes Modric needs to be taken out of the firing line:

While the midfielder does look a little jaded following his busy summer at the FIFA World Cup, Bale is out of form.

Early on in the campaign it seemed like he was going to relish being the main man in attack for Los Blancos following the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. However, he’s lost the vigour that was present in his play in the initial games of the 2018-19 season.

The Madridistas had no issue with letting Bale know they were unhappy with his performance either, per the Spanish Football Podcast:

When Plzen and Madrid met previously goals from Karim Benzema and Marcelo were enough to see the defending European champions to a 2-1 win.

After losing to CSKA Moscow earlier in the competition Madrid have taken six points from a possible nine in their group; three points here would put them in a strong position to progress ahead of another meeting with CSKA and a tough trip to the Italian capital to face Roma.

Real are still a work in progress, and while that means their performance may not be the most fluid on Wednesday, they will get through in the end.

City won 3-0 against Shakhtar in the Ukraine two weeks ago and are top of group F on six points, one ahead of French side Lyon, after three matches.

While fans are looking forward to the Manchester derby against United, Guardiola says tonight’s game is as crucial. The City manager said: “Every game is important and you have to evaluate. The most important will be Shakhtar, first because it is the next one and second because it is a final.

“After dropping points against Lyon, every game is a final. We have a big chance to make an incredible step to qualify for the next round and after we have three or four days to think about United.”

Ronaldo’s new club Juve beat United 1-0 at Old Trafford two weeks ago and are top of group H with a maximum nine points from three matches.

Second-placed United go to Turin five points behind Juve and Rashford is ready to face the Italian champions again. “The home game was a game with a lot of lessons,” the 21-year-old told the United website. “It was a game where we could have lost 2-0, drew the game 1-1 or won the game 2-1.

“I think it’s good to have the two games quite close together because the first game is quite fresh in a lot of people’s minds. I wouldn’t say it’s easier to prepare for it, but you feel ready to face it.”

Former United star Ronaldo will line up again tonight in the black and white stripes of Juventus. Although Rashford is in awe of the 33-year-old Portuguese striker he says United must not fear him.

“For me there is no bigger inspiration in football,” added Rashford. “I could speak for a lot of young players and United fans that watched the team when he was here and the majority of us have followed him as he’s moved on in his career and that’s what special about United.

“When you play against a player like that you have to respect his qualities but at the same time you have to play your game and you can’t show fear to that type of player.”

Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic is fit again and could feature tonight. However, the BBC reports that Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri could select Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala alongside Ronaldo in a “three-pronged attack”.

The Italian champions do have some injury worries though with midfielders Douglas Costa and Emre Can and forward Moise Kean ruled out.

Man Utd team news

United striker Romelu Lukaku has not travelled to Turin and is also an injury doubt for the derby against Manchester City on Sunday.

Portuguese full-back Diogo Dalot will also miss the clash against Juve but captain Antonio Valencia and midfielder Marouane Fellaini trained this week and were in the travelling party to Italy.

Manchester United vs Juventus

Manchester United vs Juventus : Manchester United were dominated by Juventus when the two European giants met at Old Trafford in the UEFA Champions League group stage last month. Remarkably, the Italian champions only prevailed 1-0, and Paul Pogba nearly salvaged a point late on when his curling effort struck the post.

Jose Mourinho and his side will need to make major improvements if they are not to be embarrassed by Juve and former Red Devils star Cristiano Ronaldo when the two sides face off again in Turin on Wednesday.

United are enjoying their best spell of 2018-19 after extending their unbeaten run in the Premier League to four matches with their 2-1 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

However, they still look unconvincing at the back and seem unable to produce their best form until they are already trailing.

If they are poor again in the opening 45 minutes at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday they will be lucky to escape a hammering.

The Manchester Evening News’ Samuel Luckhurst described the gulf in quality between Juve and United in the reverse fixture last month:

Mourinho’s side have improved since then, but if they are to get a result in Italy they will need the likes of Pogba, Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial to maintain their recent good form.

Martial has been United’s best player of late:

If the Frenchman can produce another stellar performance against Juve and earn United a point or a win, it will further prove he is ready to make the step up to the elite level.

Other than avoiding embarrassment, United need to get something against Juventus to prevent putting their place in the knockout rounds in jeopardy.

At the moment Juve look to have sewn up top spot in the group, so United, Valencia and Young Boys are all playing for the final qualification spot.

Another defeat against the Italian giants and United could drop out of second spot, making their final two matches must-win games.

A win against Massimiliano Allegri’s side and the Manchester outfit will not only take a step closer to the last 16, they will also put themselves back in contention to top the group.

Bayern Munich will be hoping to ascend to the top of Group E with a win on Wednesday night.

The German champions have a selection issue, though, as Kovac will have to decide whether to play a full-strength side in order to build up their goal difference, or they could opt to rest players as they look to catch upcoming weekend opponents Borussia Dortmund in the race for the Bundesliga title.

The Bavarians are currently four points off the pace in the Bundesliga after their slow start has left them in third place.

AEK are having domestic struggles of their own, sitting fifth in the Greek League, six points behind PAOK who are top.

Bayern have stumbled through Group E so far with unimpressive performances in all three games, but Kovac’s side are back on home soil for the first time in the competition since labouring to a 1-1 draw with Ajax last month.

The last time these two sides met it ended 2-0 to Bayern in Greece, however, it was a brief lapse in concentration that cost AEK, with two goals in two minutes consigning them to defeat.
